Radio button glitch, radio v radio-sat

This is a 08 range rover with the 2010 nav disk i believe. When on the audio screen at the bottom left the touch screen button normally says "radio-sat" but about once a week it will just say "radio". I was driving down the road yesterday and the screen seemed to flash for a split second and then it did the same thing. Everything works and if i push the button when it says "radio" it will still switch to sat. It seems like some kind of programming error in the sat nav.

On a possibly related note i have had the whole sat nav radio system freeze up 2 or 3 times in the last 3 months. If i turn the truck off for a couple minutes it would return to normal.

Has anyone had this happen before?

Hi,
My Range Rover 2.5 Diesel seem to be holding back and running lumpy under 2,000rpm.
It just seems under powered.
Could this be the early symptons of an electrical fault.

Replaced eas compressor still error

After i replaced the eas compressor on my rrs 2007 i still get the error suspension fault normal height selected. The compressor works. I'm able to pump.

The pump keep making noise and stops after the error.

Its an hitachi pump

'15 RR - $28k 5wk repair & burns after front corner impact

So, I was able to drive my 2015 Supercharged RR all of a month before it was wrecked.

This impact with the front passenger side of my 2015 Range Rover Supercharged by a BMW 3 Series 10 days ago resulted in:

(1) steering wheel airbag inexplicably going off (I was traveling maybe 5mph) and burning my arms, leaving what are now scars (if you were not aware of this - the airbag literally burns the skin off of your arms if you are gripping the steering wheel when it goes off - as opposed to driving with no hands, in which case I guess it wouldn't hurt you) - not sure what that design is all about;

(2) a microsopic bent portion of the front of the frame requiring the car to be shipped out of state and

(3) a 45 day repair timeframe with a $28,000.00 repair bill. $19,000.00 of which are parts. Yes, 45 days from the date of the accident, despite being towed immediately to the local RR dealer. Things like $2,000.00 headlight assemblies (even though left side of the car appears absolutely fine).

It all seems pretty outrageous. The impact was not that great. I am not very happy with the cost. Its one thing to rip people off on the initial price, and then to cost that much to repair this damage is insane.

Not to mention the airbag going off for no reason and burning both of my arms.

This RR was my first. I had previously owned a 2008 Land Cruiser and 2011 LX 570. I can't imagine that the bill to repair damage that minor would be almost $30,000.00 in one of those.

Remote Suspension operation.

We have all seen the iphone remote driving the RRS. Got me curious about that remote suspension raising and lowering feature I had read about in the manual. So I went and tried it. and nothing seemed to happen. Anyone with an insight into how it actually works? I had the car running because obviously it didnt work with the car off as I expected iot wouldn't. I jsut had to try to idiot-mode with it off just in case I missed something. Needless to say I don't think it works with you in the car as that is pointless when you have button on the console for that.

Seems simple enough. I don't know what am missing, but it doesnt work for me. I have no use for it, just thought, "Oh cool see a new cool trick it can do...".

P38 overheating

Hi, my P38 is overheating and i'm hoping someone can help me solve this problem. my p38 has never overheated since i changed my water pump recently. my car overheats at idle, the water in the expansion tank stays cold, the top radiator hose stays hot and rock hard, the bottom radiator hose stays cold. when i open the expansion tank cap to released the pressure the water is cold. so far i check my radiator to see if its not clogged and water flows through. i was thinking maybe its my thermostat. Please help.

Recently picked up a 2015 HSE this spring. It only has 5600 miles on it and the check engine light came on today. I parked the car outside in a lot and checked back up on it a few hours later and found a puddle beneath the engine bay. Not asking for any help as to what the problem might be but I'm curious if anybody else has had problems this severe this early on in their ownership? I should also mention that the car wasn't driven for 6 weeks, but in the past two days I've taken it from NY to DC.

Hi i changed my fuel pump on my car a few weeks back 4.6 hse,its done next to nothing mileage wise.Came to start it the other day ,nothing.Checked for fuel at the schrader valve ,no fuel.Fuse is ok ,relay is ok,jumped connections 30 and 87,still no fuel at the valve.Am i correct in thinking my fuel pump has failed again.I love my car but my patience is wearing thin.can anyone think of something i,ve missed.

'95 LWB Engine Randomly Dying

Hi All,

I'm troubleshooting my LWB as twice now, while driving, the engine cut-out without throwing any codes or providing any warning. The two common things are
  • I was turning to the right. First time I was changing lanes and the second time I was turning into a parking lot
  • The truck will start right back up and continue on like nothing has ever happened
A difference between the first even and the second event was that the first time, the engine just cut out. No questions. The second time, the engine tried to keep running. When I put it in neutral I had zero throttle response but it was trying rather hard to keep itself alive. I opted to turn the truck off the second time and it was back to normal afterwards.

The TPS has been replaced with a working unit and grounds are good. Again, no codes or CEL are thrown. This screams electrical issue and so far my ideas are:
  • theft-system is randomly engaging causing an ignition inhibitor to activate. (I'm having central lock issues due to the passenger side door lock so I wouldn't be too surprised if that's the case. )
  • It could also be something to do with the gear selector/ neutral safety switch, although, that wouldn't explain why I'm able to start the truck right up.
  • Fuel relay randomly cutting out?
  • Ignition cables
Questions:
  1. With these symptoms, what would you be checking for first?
  2. Has this happened to anyone else before? What did you do to fix it?

Transmission slipping after fluid drain & refill..

Please give me some feedback:

I had my mechanic replace my transmission filter, drain and refill transmission fluid with Bilstein Febi G052162A2 at 96,000kms. After driving for about an hour, my transmission started slipping. It would over rev when switching gears or not engage when the gearbox would shift automatically at speed. Transmission was running smoothly before the service.

When I did this service with my last L322 at 160,000kms, I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF 324, at first we put too little fluid and when I left, my transmission started slipping, after topping it up, it worked fine.

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this Bilstein Febi transmission fluid before?

Perhaps a mix of the old fluid and new fluid is causing this issue?

I suggested flushing out all of the fluid now and refilling with new fluid to see if this fixes the issue.

Please weigh in with your opinion. Thanks in advance.

I did some research and found a set of deployable side step on eBay from Taiwan for $2000. I offered them $1,500 for them but they finally accepted an offer of $1,800 shipped via 5 day UPS which is very expensive. Did anyone buy these? They're a lot cheaper than original ones and look identical. I asked them and they said that they copied the OE one including the harness and wiring. I'm expecting to receive them next week and will update on their quality.

Hello,

I am looking for information related to RR options available to achieve the following:
1. I live in Canada where it is Winter 9 months of the year (snow, sleet, ice).
2. I carry about 800-1000lbs of gear.
3. I would consider towing a trailer if the transmission is up to it.
4. I drive around 50,000 to 100.000km a year
5. I don't particularly want to purchase new - but I do want to make sure I am looking at a viable vehicle choice.
6. When I am not driving/towing/moving gear I would like the vehicle to be somewhat comfortable

Thoughts / advice welcome

EAS Compressor L322 2006 which one

I have an 06 with a NCJ Pressings Ltd Compressor Part#LRQ500030, I have been offered a replacement LRQ500041, that looks identical (off a 07 HSE Super charged). The dealers show a LR025111 LR011839 LR015089 LR041777 by Hitachi. I am told the NCJ's are not rebuildable like the earlier WABCO units.
SO....what will fit. BTW, fault is slow lifting and then suspension fault.
